The eBox, webcam, and the gas sensor will be installed onto a remote controlled car platform. The

platform that will be used is the iRobot Create. The specifications of the iRobot Create are given in Table

4. All necessary components, including the remote control, battery, 110 V battery charger, of the iRobot

will be included in the standard package.

4. Design Approach and Details

4.1 Design Approach

The main priority of the Gas Bot is to safely and reliably collect and transfer gas concentration

levels. The Gas Bot is designed to prevent human exposure to toxic gases in harsh environments. The

robotic components used for this setup include: a web cam, carbon monoxide sensor, a Phidgets/pic board,

an eBox, and an iRobot. The CO sensor will be integrated with either the Phidgets board or pic board,
